The Malibu Foundation for Environmental Education is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to a sustainable and healthy planet for all life by educating and motivating people into action. Eight-year old Allen Martinez, who had never been to the beach before, was quoted by The Los Angeles Times on Tuesday, October 5, 1993, as saying, "Cleaning the beach with my classmates made me feel hopeful." Gazing at the horizon, a plastic litter bag dangling at his side, he remarked on how blue the water looked. "The whole place looks so beautiful," he said. "I think I can save the Earth." Since 1991, The Malibu Foundation's Adopt-A-Beach School Assembly Program has reached almost 600,000 California school children. Nearly 90,000 have participated in our annual KIDS OCEAN DAY Adopt-A-Beach Clean-Up each June in celebration of Ocean Day.
