For 40 years, the Community Association for Riding for the Disabled (CARD) has been active in the GTA, improving the lives of children and adults with disabilities through quality therapeutic horseback riding programs. CARD's therapeutic riding program helps children and adults with cognitive, physical and emotional disabilities gain greater mobility, motor control, strength and balance, communication and social skills. CARD's focus is on helping each rider know his or her abiliity and to experience the confidence and self-esteem of participation, inclusion and success. Every year, using the horse as therapy, CARD improves the quality of life of more than 750 children and adults with disabilities across the GTA.
