Charities We Give A Poop About
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease) is a progressive neuromuscular disease in which the body's muscles are paralyzed until its victims are unable to swallow and breathe. ALS can strike anyone, male or female, of any ethnic origin and of any age. There is no known treatment or cure for ALS. If you get ALS, you will die, most likely within two to five years. Every day two or three Canadians die of the disease. ALS is the most common cause of neurological death in Canada. According to the World Health Organization, neurodegenerative diseases are predicted to surpass cancer as the second leading cause of death in Canada by 2040. Please help stop this horrific disease and support our mission to find a cure for ALS. For more information visit: http://www.ALS.ca
