The S.A.F.E Foundation is a Wales based NGO committed to poverty reduction in small, marginalized communities in the developing world. Despite mainstream aid being warmly received in many poor countries, there remains a huge number of people that can't access this assistance, either becuase they are so remote, their communities are so small, or the only aid they see is conditional. The S.A.F.E Foundation responds to these needs by implementing programmes covering health, education, livelihood, equality and empowerment in a culturally sensitive, grass roots and unconditional way. We work with people who are incredibly poor, homeless, disabled and desperate to gain some quality of life. Back home, we take development education into our communities, and work to dispel stigmas about poverty, ethnicity, tradition and culture with a view to promoting international understanding, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
